How Do You Know If The Lord Is Calling You?

• Are there signs from the Lord and what are they?

•  If it feels like it, how can you be sure?

• If you are sure, how do I know what to do?

These are questions asked by almost all of us at some point in our lives.  And, there are many answers to all of those questions because it's different for every one of us.  For some, it's an inner feeling of absolute conviction that moves them directly into the Path.  For most, it's just a "feeling" that remains firmly, but it's uncertain or even timid.  For some, it's there but faltering.

So, How Do You Know If You're Being Called By The Lord?

I'd like to share my own Journey with the hope that you
might identify with the signs when the Lord called me to the Ministry.

 My journey into the ministry began soon after I gave my life to Christ the 2^nd weekend in July 1995. 

Back then I was only 14 years old.  Nevertheless, I began to grow in the faith very fast.  One day in the month of August while playing in the streets of the neighborhood where I grew up, I heard a voice calling my name.

I stopped and looked around thinking it may have been a neighbor calling me.  Nobody was there, except the friend I was talking to when I was  interrupted by hearing my name.   A few minutes later I heard the voice again, this time I turned my head quickly in every direction trying to find the source of the voice but there just wasn't anyone there.

I kept this 'incident' to myself for a while because I thought people would think I was crazy.  The only thing I heard was my name, nothing else.

The next Sunday while I was in Sunday school class listening to my teacher, an urge began to swell inside me as the Sunday school teacher was talking about the upcoming youth revival.  An urge,
a desire, a will began to blaze inside me so, I spoke with the teacher after class and said I would like to speak at the Youth Revival.

Next thing I knew the teacher took me immediately to the Pastor’s office where he explained to the Pastor what I told him.  Next, the Pastor asked me why do you feel the need to speak at the Youth Revival, then just like a knee jerk reaction  I told him about my 'incident' & about hearing my name but nobody was there.  

He didn't think I was crazy, instead he took some oil and prayed over me and so began my journey in the ministry. 

So on August the 16^th my 15 fifteenth birthday I preached my very first sermon and I've never looked back.
